Yonkers Arts is pleased to announce our winter 2026 exhibition WORDS. Words shape our lives connecting us to each other and convey our needs, feelings, and wishes. WORDS exhibition will feature artist interpretations of words in traditional or non-traditional media forms of paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, video, performance, and installation.

Please note that all works must be dropped off/picked up in person at the gallery, located at 216 Lake Ave in Yonkers, NY. 

Yonkers Arts is also seeking proposals for workshops and programs relating to the concepts of the exhibitions WORDS. Themes of programs might include writing, poetry, literature, performances, spoken word, children’s workshops, etc. Your ideas come to life with Yonkers Arts!

• Review of Submissions: Monday, January 19th, 2026 to Thursday, January 22nd, 2026

• Notifications: Friday, January 23rd, 2026

• Artwork Drop Off: Wednesday, February 4th, 2026 to Friday, February 6th, 2026 from 3pm - 6pm; Saturday, February 7th, 2026 from 12pm - 4pm

• Opening Reception: Thursday, February 12th, 2026

• Closing Date: Saturday, March 21st, 2026

• Artwork Collection: Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 - Friday, March 27th, 2026 from 3pm - 6pm; Saturday, March 28th, 2026 from 12pm - 4pm
