Yonkers Arts is thrilled to announce our next exhibition,  “Body Adornment”, an exhibition which will explore the universal human practice of decorating the body using various methods, including clothing, jewelry, makeup, tattoos, piercings, and other forms of body modification.

We are seeking submissions of body adornment interpretations from artists, community members, and designers to feature. This could include, but is not limited to, photographs, sketches, paintings, tools used for body adornment and modifications, clothing, and accessories. 

In addition to submissions for the exhibition, we are seeking program proposals to enhance the exhibition experience. This includes, but is not limited to, tattoo pop-ups, workshops on the history of body modification, henna pop-ups, body painting, etc.

• Review of Submissions: December 5th to December 8th, 2025

• Notifications: December 9th to December 11th, 2025

• Artwork Drop Off: Wednesday, January 7th to Friday, January 9th, 2026 from 3pm to 6pm, and Saturday, January 10th, 2026 from 12pm - 4pm

• Opening Reception: Thursday, January 22, 2026

• Closing Date: Saturday, March 21st, 2026

• Artwork Collection: Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 Friday, March 27th, 2026 from 3pm to 6pm, and Saturday, March 28th, 2026 from 12pm - 4pm.
