This ongoing hunt for materials fuels her creative momentum and deepens her connection to the physical world. More on the artist and her work can be found at Dacunto.co / IG: @collageeducated
DAVID DIXON
I work in a variety of mediums, using bright vibrant colors to create representational as well as abstract paintings, drawings, digital photo collages and mixed media reliefs. I love to travel internationally and upon my return incorporate my experiences into my work resulting in pieces inspired by everything from djembe players in Bronx parks to joyful dancers on the streets of Cape Town. My muse is jazz and the extraordinary artists who play this soul stirring music. I capture the images and impressions of jazz musicians in my portraiture work and the moods and vibes of their music in my abstract work. My representational work consists largely of portraits and full body paintings from life which typically take many weeks to months to complete. By contrast, in my abstract painting I use the same principles of balance, color, contrast, and movement used in my life paintings, but the creative process is quick and inspired rather than methodical and studied. When engaging with my abstract work I invite the viewer to interpret it through their own experience. Being a professional artist, I am fulfilling my heartfelt calling. My intent is to grow my practice and expand further into multi-media and larger scale works. I strive to create great art and to share my vision with the world. I cannot limit my artistic creativity to one style. Regardless of the medium or genre creating visual art is the passion that sustains me. dkDixonDesigns.com DKDesigns2021@gmail.com FB and IG @DKDixonDesigns
MARY DORAN
Mary Doran Photographer: Mary has been a resident of Yonkers for decades. She has lived near the Hudson River all of her life. She began taking photographs when there were still flash cubes on top of cameras lol. While she takes photos of family and friends she mainly focuses on landscapes as she was influenced by the bucolic themes of the Hudson River School of Painting when in high school. She visits Westchester Parks and Gardens every week as there is an abundance of everchanging beauty just waiting to be discovered within fifteen minutes of our doorstep in any direction we go. Mary loves taking photos of nature in all seasons and is inspired by rivers, ponds, oceans, beaches, and lakes as well as trees, flowers, birds, sunsets and the weather. There is a sunset everyday but each is its own work of art. Mary believes that landscape photos beckon the individual to become happily enveloped and daydream about the moment in time the photo evokes. Mary was an Assistant Principal and educator in the Bronx for 35 years and was an avid supporter of Arts and Wellness in the Schools. She has a B.A. in English from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, a Masters in Elementary Education from Lehman College and a Masters in Supervision and Administration from Manhattan College. TATYANA POLYAK
Tatyana Polyak’s art depicts the world around her, from everyday items to faraway places. Once the idea sparks her imagination, she starts with a simple sketch and progresses with the layers of color. Her artworks are primarily landscapes and still life. One inspiration for her art comes from visiting the remote Italian countryside. Tatyana is mesmerized by walking around the centuries-old sites while taking in the explosion of natural colors and the play of light, the chaos of streets, structures, and people. Yet, with the pace of modernity pressing on, these serene and seemingly frozen-in-time towns and hills look vulnerable in their beauty. This fragile beauty moves her to show it in her artwork. Another source of inspiration for her art are objects created by nature. The peculiarity of texture, the stillness of form, and the mysteries of shadows are the high points that inspire her creativity. Tatyana lives in Northern Westchester, NY and is actively involved in the local art communities such as Peekskill Arts Alliance, Garrison Arts Center, Mamaroneck Artists Guild. She exhibits in the group shows and participates in the art workshops. Before becoming an artist, Tatyana was writing about the art scene in and around NYC. Art was her passion throughout her life. From museums, exhibitions, lectures to books and classes, art is a constant presence for her. At first, creating art was driven by a subconscious need to heal and calm. With time, it is becoming a way to observe and understand. ART=LIFE

LILA ROSE
Lila Rose is a multidisciplinary artist influenced by my artistic inspirations, which include music, spirituality, travel, and nature. Much of my work uses acrylic, the first paint I ever used, and I love that I can use my hand when needed to really add myself to my work. It’s very versatile, from the different ways I can add texture to backgrounds to the realism of a person’s skin. My work's influences are my culture, dreams, spirituality, music, nature, travel, and, of course, food! I create fun subjects, like my art piece “Everyone Loves Donuts!”, a 10x10 mixed-media piece featuring my family as different-flavor donuts. I created this piece in January 2024 to challenge myself by trying food realism and creating something relaxing yet fun. In 2023, I started a concept journal to give myself a space to brainstorm the concepts for my artworks, due to my vivid dreams, during the day and night, basically all the time—to ensure the messages I want to convey come through to the viewer and that the emotions are felt through the canvas. My artistic goal is to define what being a successful artist means to me and to work toward the art career I want for myself.

WILFREDO SANTIAGO
Born to Puerto Rican parents and raised in the Bronx. I've been creating art since I was in fourth grade. I was accepted to the High School of Art and Design. After graduation, I attended a summer art program at Cooper Union. That fall season, I started my journey at the University of the Arts. I studied many art forms and graduated with a BFA in Illustration. I now work for the Board of Education and teach art to older adults at Brooklyn Public Library branches. I work with watercolor, ballpoint, color pencil, acrylic, scratchboard, and pyrography. I started doing pyrography eight years ago, when I purchased a beginner's tool for wood burning. I began doing research on other pyrographers and realized that there were more professional wood burning tools. After working with my first professional wood burning kit, I fell in love with the process of making art. On top of enjoying the process I noticed that pyrography is not seen as much in an urban environment. I wanted to bring that rare, raw, rustic, art form to modern culture. I have been lucky to have my own solo show at Boricua College and to have some of my pieces show at few galleries, including Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition {BWAC}, Greenpoint Gallery, the Islip Gallery and the D. Velez Gallery. I enjoy creating custom art for people. Knowing that they will forever have a piece of my art that I created with love, brings me a lot of pleasure. I also enjoy and love creating art that reminds me of my Hispanic Heritage. Wilfredo Santiago Brooklyn
MYA SEWARD
I am a mixed media artist. I experiment with oil paint, collage, printmaking, and photography. I earned my BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2022. My practice focuses on incorporating these techniques to explore overlooked aspects of urban life. I am deeply interested in process, observation, and exploration. My work often begins with close attention to everyday environments, such as traces of graffiti, worn industrial surfaces, objects, and quiet, forgotten spaces. These elements become starting points for creative investigation, and I use this curiosity as part of the art making process. I see art as a way to document experience, to slow down and absorb details that might otherwise be missed. I love experimenting with various materials to reflect these discoveries, bringing together different moments and places into visual narratives.

HARAMRITJOT SINGH
Haramritjot Singh is a New York–based artist and creative director whose work is shaped by his Punjabi and Sikh identity, as well as his upbringing in New York City. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, his practice explores themes of identity, labor, and cultural memory through a bold and expressive visual language. Singh often positions New York as both subject and symbol within his work. In an ongoing series, he translates lyrics about New York City from popular music into visual form, transforming familiar words into imagined landscapes and moments. His piece But for Now Heaven’s in New York embodies this approach, reimagining the Empire State Building through a dreamlike and monumental lens as a personal love letter to the city he calls home. A recurring focus in Singh’s practice is the depiction of hands as both symbolic and literal tools for engaging with the world. This motif pays homage to blue-collar labor and generational work, drawing from his grandfathers’ lives as farmers in India and his father’s work in the construction industry in New York City. Beyond his studio practice, Singh is the founder of Cash Cow NYC, where he extends his artistic vision into community-centered projects across the city, using design and storytelling to build identity, celebrate youth, and bring art into everyday life.

TEDF
I have loved and explored a multitude of mediums and I am eager to test my artistic prowess in as many avenues as possible. Having predominantly practiced relief printmaking for ten years, I’ve developed an unorthodox method of implementing its key tenets; carving but not printing. I fancy the permanence felt through the weight and volume of a mounted linoleum block, I consider it the final artwork. It allows me to experiment with color more freely without destroying the block itself while also providing a more tangible sense of confidence as the block communicates assurance with every cut, scrape, or break. I am largely inspired by musicians and athletes. Moments of spontaneity in the development of melodies and the unpredictable nature of sport capture my attention. I employ this spontaneity in my artistic process by using creative energy to execute each piece directly, forgoing a sketch/proof of concept stage. I find the initial excitement felt at the inception of an idea wasted on any structured plan. A common throughline in most if not all my work is spectacle. I want to create an immense amount of movement and detail in each piece, dragging the viewer’s eyes across every inch of linoleum. I endeavor to do this by flooding each piece with striking colors or dynamic cuts. I also try to tell jokes with my pieces. I believe the fine art realm is often too self-serious and runs the risk of falling into pretentiousness. My artistic philosophy is amusement before statement; or amusement through statement. I fear a viewer’s scowl or indifference. My work typically centers around recollection. of late I have been seduced by the prospect of sharing little known Jamaican culture with the world. My work endeavors to introduce outside viewers to my Jamaican heritage and pride in a palatable and welcoming manner. I communicate this by presenting Jamaican cultural identity through subtlety; prompting viewers to investigate the choices made in each piece. My ultimate goal as an artist is to amuse a viewer through engaging introspection, humor and/or spectacle.

MATTHEW TUROV
I was born in Oceanside, Long Island in 1952 and have lived in NYC since 1972, every borough except Staten Island. Since 2001 my wife Debbi and I have called Riverdale home. I began painting while in my late teens although I began drawing much earlier. I was exposed to art at a very young age when my dad would take us to museums. I fell in love with ancient Egyptian art at the Met and the Brooklyn Museum. At the Guggenheim and MoMa I embraced twentieth century modernism. I grew up in the suburbs but we had relatives who lived in NYC and upstate NY. I was thus exposed to different densities and proportions, of population and of nature. I studied at the Art Students League, drawing with Robert Beverly Hale, painting with Knox Martin, clay sculpture with Leonid Lerman, among others. At Hunter College I studied painting and color theory with Sanford Wurmfeld while attaining a BA in Studio Art. I’m very fond of traveling and have taken many domestic and international trips. Living near Van Cortlandt Park has enabled me to explore nature close to home. I’ve exhibited my paintings in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Yonkers, Peekskill, Cold Spring and Narrowsburg, NY. My paintings are in collections in NYC, Westchester, Sullivan County, New Jersey and Denmark. I explore the interaction between nature-based and system-based forms within a vibrant spectrum of colors. I delve into line, rhythm, hue, luminosity and harmony, seeking a balance between emotion and perception, joy and logic, the intuitive and the analytical. A central theme in my work is the continuity of line, serving as a foundation upon which shapes emerge as planes of color, intertwined with linear and curvilinear movement. My practice is marked by an enduring fascination with the contrast between the seemingly eternal forms of ancient Egyptian art and the perpetual dynamism depicted in Futurism. Lines & colors intertwine to create arrangements that perpetually interact, embodying both suspended motion and continuous movement. I'm in love with colors and the virtually endless ways they relate to each other. www.matthewturov.com
