Project RISE

Project RISE (Respond, Invest, Sustain, and Empower) is a New York State initiative focused on preventing violence, expanding opportunities for young people, and building stronger, safer communities. It supports community-based programs that promote youth development, healing, education, and positive connections.

Yonkers Arts uses creativity as a pathway to positive youth development. Through Project RISE, we provide young people with safe, supportive opportunities to express themselves, develop new skills, build confidence, and connect with their community through the arts.

What Students Can Explore

  • JR ARTS LEAGUE – networking, professional mentorships, career and skill development, collaborations and brand development

  • YONKERS COMIC CON – showcase original art, creative self-expression and storytelling, cosplay, exposure to creative careers and entrepreneurship

  • YOUTH MURAL GROUP – hands-on skill development, mural preparation, creation, preservation, restoration, civic engagement and community pride

  • YONKERS BREAKING LEAGUE – physical fitness, confidence, discipline and resilience, teamwork through singing and dance performances
